Land Stewardship Project Update

Nature Chelsea has completed a two-year Land Stewardship Project. Thirty-eight landowners were engaged on the project, which involved Nature Chelsea biologists conducting a biodiversity assessment of their lands. Following the assessment, recommendations were given as to how to maintain or restore habitat to support biodiversity. We are very pleased to report that most of the participating Chelsea landowners took good care of their lands and appreciate biodiversity values. ACRE thanks all of the landowners who were engaged in the project, and encourages you to read our new guidebook (pdf) on Land Stewardship in Chelsea. This project was undertaken with the financial support of the Government of Canada provided through the Department of the Environment. We are also grateful for the support of our project partners: The Municipality of Chelsea, Dendroica Environnement et Faune, Terra Point, the University of New Brunswick, and Mountain Equipment Coop.
